Purchasing Options

Pork by the Piece
This is a nice way to purchase pork - you get to hand pick what you would like for meat, and it's also a great option for those who do not have a lot of extra freezer space. There is no minimum required amount to purchase pork selections by the piece. Pork by the piece is available year round.  For a list of what's currently in stock, please visit our pork by the piece page. We now carry more than 12 varieties of nitrate-free pork selections.

By the Half or Whole Hog (next process date: Late Fall/Early Winter 2021)
If you choose this option to purchase pork, you get to select your meat processor from our list, and you get to custom pick what you would like done with your portion of the hog. Some options include bacon, sausage, bratwurst (depending on processor), ham, pork chops, ribs, ham hocks, roasts, ground pork. This is a great way to go if you're looking to stock up on some meat and have the storage space to do so. Purchasing a half or whole hog is also a good investment - you get all cuts of meat for the same flat rate (price of your pig is based on hanging weight - currently around $3.50 a pound)
To reserve your pork we require a deposit of $50 per half hog, $100 per whole hog. We have no hogs available for reservation now.

Feeder Pigs

Choose this option if you would like to raise a wonderful heritage breed hog at your own home. Feeder pigs are sold at around 8 weeks of age.  Current price is $125 per piglet for feeder pigs. Feeder pigs are not currently available.

About the meat processing...
Processing is done by local processors (Davis Meat Processing or Bellingar Packing) or a USDA inspected facility (Ebel's Meat Processing), and you get to choose which cuts of meat you would like.

Price is based on hanging weight - you pay a price per pound to us, and then also pay the meat processor. 2020 price per pound is currently $4.00/lb hanging weight, unless you choose a non-USDA processor. Non-USDA processing price is $3.75/lb.  This puts you around $400-500 for a half hog and about $700-850 for a whole hog.  (This does not include your processing costs - you pay these directly to the processor if processed locally, or to us if processed at a USDA inspected facility).
